Implementing an international program to manage major incidents in Ajman to enhance the national preparedness system

Ajman, April 11 / WAM / 60 members of the first line of defense passed the basic training program for managing and supporting major incidents, internationally accredited by the European Center for Disaster Medicine, under the supervision of His Excellency Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, in cooperation with the Office of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, and the unified and integrated national system for preparedness and response – Readiness – and organized by the Ajman Preparedness and Response Programme, “Ajman Readiness”.

His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police said that the implementation of the program comes within the framework of the efforts of the Emirate of Ajman to strengthen the national preparedness system and raise the efficiency of the integrated response to major accidents and emergencies, by applying international best practices and adopting unified and internationally approved methodologies, which contributes to developing the capabilities of national cadres and enabling them to deal with various challenges efficiently.

His Excellency stressed that the program demonstrates the commitment of the Ajman Police General Command and its strategic partners to achieving the goals of the National Strategy for Emergency and Crisis Management, and enhancing the security and safety of society, by investing in human capital and qualifying competencies capable of dealing with various emergency scenarios with high efficiency and professionalism.

For his part, His Excellency Hamad Taryam Al Shamsi, Director of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection in Ajman, explained that the training program focused on developing the skills of participants in managing major incidents, enhancing joint coordination between the concerned authorities, and raising the level of operational readiness, ensuring rapid response and effectiveness of dealing with crises according to an integrated system.

Dr. Adel Al-Shammari Al-Ajmi, CEO of the unified and integrated national system for preparedness and response “Jaheziya” and head of the Emirates Doctors Initiative, confirmed that the program represents a qualitative step in enhancing integration between the various concerned parties and building an advanced national system capable of responding effectively to major incidents and crises, noting that investing in training and qualifying the first line of defense is an essential pillar in achieving comprehensive preparedness and sustaining health and community security in the country.
