"together" It discusses with Shuwaib farmers opportunities to enhance economic sustainability

ABU DHABI, 2nd May / WAM / The Community Contributions Authority – Together -, in partnership with the Emirates Council for Balanced Development and the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, organized a community meeting with farmers in the Al Shuwaib area in the city of Al Ain, with the aim of discussing ways to empower farmers and enhance the economic viability of their farms, in a way that contributes to supporting the sustainability of the agricultural sector and the development of local communities.
The participants discussed mechanisms for developing farms in the Al Shuwaib area and transforming them into sustainable agricultural, tourism and commercial destinations, based on authentic agricultural tourism experiences, innovation and digital empowerment, in a way that enhances the agricultural sector’s contribution to the local economy and supports the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s directions towards economic diversification, sustainable development and enhancing the sector’s role in tourism. They also discussed the development of support projects, such as digital platforms aimed at raising farmers’ capabilities, guiding them to modern agricultural practices, and providing farm owners with specialized content in management and operation, in addition to providing technical and field consultations that contribute to raising farms’ readiness to receive visitors and transforming them into profitable economic projects.
The participants stressed the importance of benefiting from the decision to practice economic activities on farms, which allowed the practice of 145 approved economic activities, thus enhancing the efficiency of agricultural land use and raising the economic feasibility of farms.
They stressed the importance of developing innovative business models and the necessity of integrating efforts and expertise in a way that contributes to transforming farms into productive economic projects, for the success of the initiatives and maximizing their impact on society and the agricultural sector.
