Morocco.. A royal pardon for the Senegalese fans sentenced in the “Alkan events”

Moroccan King Mohammed VI issued a comprehensive royal pardon to Senegalese fans sentenced in Morocco in connection with the riots at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, which Morocco hosted, according to a statement issued by the Royal Court. This decision was made for humanitarian considerations and on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. Last April, the Rabat Court of Appeal imposed a prison term of three months to one year for 18 Senegalese fans who were convicted of participating in riots during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.
