Acting President of Venezuela: The country will not witness social unrest after the two earthquakes


Tightened Venezuela’s acting president on Sunday stressed that the country would not slide into social unrest in the wake of The two earthquakes that resulted in approximately Three thousand dead and thousands missing.

Acting President Delcy Rodriguez said during a military ceremony on the occasion of Independence Day "There will be no social unrest. What we are witnessing is deep social solidarity"

Many Venezuelans had expressed their anger at what they saw as the negligence in the US-backed government’s response to the June 24 disaster, before the arrival of international relief teams.

Rodriguez defended the performance of the authorities, confirming the deployment of thousands of officials to help.
