A historic achievement.. America raises the UAE to Group A:5 within export controls

Minister of State, Saeed Al-Hajri, confirmed that the United States has elevated the UAE to the group A:5 Within US export controls (EAR), taking them out of the two groups D:3 andD:4.

Al-Hajri explained in a blog post on the “X” platform that the UAE has thus become the first Arab country to obtain this classification, joining the elite group of the United States’ closest and most reliable partners in the field of advanced technology.

He added that this decision represents international recognition of the strength of the UAE’s system of export controls and compliance, and strengthens its position as a reliable partner in developing and adopting strategic technologies, including:

• Artificial intelligence and advanced computing

• Semiconductors

• Quantitative techniques

• outer space

• Peaceful nuclear energy

• Advanced dual-use technologies

He also explained that this classification opens broader horizons for cooperation in research and development, investment, global supply chains, and advanced technology transfer with international partners.

Al Hajri concluded the post by saying, “This achievement is the fruit of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, who made trust, credibility, and commitment to international standards basic pillars of the UAE’s global standing.”
