The death toll from the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela last month exceeded five thousand deaths.

The head of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, said in a post on the Telegram application on Friday that the disaster claimed the lives of 5,069 people, noting that most of the victims fell in the coastal region.

The number of injured people stabilized at 16,740 people, most of whom left hospitals, and at least 20,857 victims live in camps.
