5 tips from “Higher Education” for choosing a university path

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has identified five tips for high school graduates to help them choose the university path closest to their ambitions, including checking the deadline for confirming admission to each university, and making the decision before it expires. She stressed that accepting any university offer automatically leads to the cancellation of the rest of the admission offers, calling on students to carefully review the university and specialization, especially when more than one admission offer is available. She also advised making a comprehensive comparison between the available options before making a decision. She stressed the importance of thinking about future ambitions and consulting with the family before choosing the offer that is consistent with the student’s aspirations and future.

In detail, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research stated that students can register in universities within the country through the unified platform for registration and admission to higher education institutions, enhanced with artificial intelligence technologies, which has been updated to support the student’s journey and facilitate planning for his academic future by providing a more easy registration experience and allowing differentiation between higher education institutions and their programs, noting that the platform was developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Education to ensure the integration of data and procedures between the stages of general education and higher education, and enhances the ability of students to make more informed decisions, in addition to Providing a new user interface that is simple and clear.

It stated on its official accounts on social media platforms that the platform allows students in the twelfth grade and above to apply to higher education institutions after digitizing all application procedures, from uploading documents to following up on admission decisions, enabling the student to create a personal file and submit several applications without having to re-enter data each time, pointing to the integration of the platform with the systems of the Ministry of Education and relevant government agencies, including the digital identity (UAE Pass), which facilitates the exchange of data and verification of information, and enables students to complete registration procedures easily and without the need to download or enter data from multiple sources.

The Ministry revealed that the number of higher education institutions registered on the platform has reached 74 government and private institutions, including the three federal universities: the United Arab Emirates University, the Higher Colleges of Technology, and Zayed University, while work continues to make the rest of the institutions available.

She added that application is available to citizens and children of female citizens who are students in the twelfth grade or who have completed secondary school requirements in public or private schools inside or outside the country, provided that the application procedures are completed and the required supporting and academic documents are completed within the specified dates.

The Ministry stated that the application procedures include 4 steps, starting with entering the application service using the digital ID (UAE Pass), with the possibility of creating a new account using the Emirates ID card for those who have not previously registered, then completing the application form according to the approved instructions and attaching the required documents. After completing the application, the applicant receives a notification that includes the application number and any additional instructions, with the need to follow the website and the electronic portal periodically to review the status of the application and developments in registration and admission, noting that application dates and procedures are determined independently by each higher education institution.

She called on students to review the official website of the institution they wish to join to view registration details and dates. If the organization’s name does not appear among the platform’s options, its registration is currently closed.
