The US Department of Labor said in a statement today, Thursday, that the number of applications for unemployment aid rose by 9,000 applications to 224,000 applications during the week ending last November 30, compared to 215,000 applications during the previous week, according to the revised data.

According to the revised data, the number of applications for unemployment aid during the week ending November 23 is at the same level as in the previous week, which recorded its lowest level since the week ending last April 27, when it reached 209 thousand applications.
For her part, Nancy Vanden Houten, chief US economic analyst at Oxford Economics, said: “The number of unemployment claims rose more than expected during the week ending November 30, but it remained low due to the limited pace of layoffs, and despite that, the impact of layoffs on unemployment aid data increased in weeks.” good, especially in the manufacturing sector.”
At the same time, the Ministry of Labor reported that the average weekly number of applications during the past four less volatile weeks rose to 218.25 thousand applications, an increase of 750 applications from the previous week, which recorded 217.5 thousand applications according to the revised data.
Analysts expect the number of jobs to rise last month by 200,000 jobs after rising by 12,000 jobs in the previous month, with the unemployment rate expected to rise from 4.1% to 4.2% during the same period.
