It is noteworthy that Dr. Redawi became the first Saudi, and even the first person from outside Canada, to hold the position of Chairman of the Specialization Committee for Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Medicine and Surgery of Canada, which is the committee responsible for developing curricula and shaping the future of this important specialty.
He was also elected President-elect and a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Occupational Medicine Association, which is the largest association representing specialists and consultants in the field of occupational medicine in Canada. Dr. Redawi also worked to open new horizons for Saudi and Gulf doctors by developing the “Fundamentals of Occupational Medicine” program at the University of Alberta.
This program, which has become available online, enables doctors to attend lectures from their places of residence without having to travel to Canada, which contributes to facilitating their access to advanced education without affecting their personal and professional lives..
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. Rezawi was unanimously elected as President-in-waiting of the Canadian Occupational Medicine Group, the body responsible for overseeing and representing the specialty internationally.
