A horrific explosion and fire.. Deaths in the collapse of a building in the Netherlands

At least four people were killed when a building collapsed in The Hague following an explosion and fire, while firefighters recovered a survivor from under the rubble, according to Dutch authorities.
Mayor Jan Van Zanen announced in a press conference that at least five apartments were destroyed, but the authorities were unable to determine the number of people trapped under the rubble.
The authorities said that four bodies were recovered with growing fears of a high death toll. Agence France-Presse indicated the presence of dozens of fire engines that fought the fire from the ground and from higher positions, and police helicopters flew overhead.

Debris was scattered across the street, several windows were shattered, thick columns of smoke rose, and a pungent smell spread in the air.
The city’s mayor, Jan van Zanen, confirmed: “It is not known how many people are still under the rubble, but the reality is that their chance of survival is slim.”
The cause of the explosion is not yet known, but the police appealed for witnesses regarding a car that was seen leaving the scene in a hurry shortly after the explosion.
