The Kremlin: Russian parliamentarians visit the United States to revive relations between the two countries

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters: "We hope that these first experimental steps will contribute to reviving our bilateral cooperation"
Russian parliamentarians are expected to meet American counterparts in Washington this week, according to Russian media.
Russian parliamentarians have not made an official visit to the United States in years.
Washington sanctions on Russian officials
Washington is imposing sanctions on several Russian officials starting in 2022 against the backdrop of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
Since Donald Trump’s return to the White House at the beginning of the year 2025, several attempts to put an end to the war in Ukraine were unsuccessful, as the Kremlin ruled out any settlement that could end its attack.
Names of the Russian delegation
Leonid Slutsky, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR), which is affiliated with the parliamentary opposition but actually supports Russian President Vladimir Putin, named 3 members of the Russian delegation: Boris Chernyshov, deputy speaker of parliament, and the two deputies, Vyacheslav. Nikonov and Svetlana Yurova.
Peskov confirmed that Putin has outlined the broad outlines of this visit, and that he will be informed in precise details of the outcome of the delegation’s meetings in the United States.
