An expected pardon.. Trump reveals the “first day” decision in the White House
US President Donald Trump said that he will use his powers on “Day One” at the White House to pardon rioters involved in the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
This came in Trump’s interview with the “Meet the Press” program on NBC, which was recorded on Friday, and is his first television interview since his election victory.
In response to Biden
Trump said: “I will act very quickly. I will look at everything. We will study the cases individually.”
Trump’s statements came in the wake of President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son Hunter Biden, in a move that contradicted his position not to use his executive powers to help his eldest son.
Biden’s move sparked criticism from both political parties, and Biden justified the decision by saying that the case against his son, who was convicted on weapons charges and also pleaded guilty to a separate tax evasion case, was politically motivated and aimed to harm him and Hunter.
