The African-Asian Confederation crowns Dr. Mohamed Zaqzouq with a title "The beating heart of Egypt"

The African Asian Union (AFASU) organized an official ceremony to crown Prof. Dr. Mohamed Tawfiq Zaqzouq, the famous heart surgeon, and award him the “AFASU Gold Award” For his part, he stressed the prestigious title of “Doctor of the Year – Man of the Year – the beating heart of Egypt”.
The ceremony was held in one of Cairo’s hotels in the presence of the Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Atef Abdel Ghaffar, Dr. Mohamed Shaqwir, Assistant Minister of Health and Head of the Treatment Institution, and Ambassador Dan Munuza, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda in Cairo, in addition to a large number of diplomats, men and women of the health sector, members of the Union and the media in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
For his part, he stressed Dr. Hossam Darwish, President of the African Asian Union (AFASU), said in his opening speech that this honor reflects the Union’s vision of merging professional excellence with social responsibility, noting that the award is a recognition of Dr. Zaqzouq’s exceptional professional and humanitarian career and his outstanding contributions in serving medicine and society, becoming a role model for younger generations.
Major General Ashraf Abu Aish, Secretary-General of the Union, said: “Our role is to support every competency that serves humanity and society, Because investing in role models is the smartest investment in the future of the two continents, and despite the challenges, skeptics and haters, we continue and we are committed to promoting all forms of integration that achieve health security and sustainable development for our peoples.
The ceremony witnessed important side dialogues that focused on Egypt’s role as a regional center for health tourism between Africa and Asia, and Rwanda’s ambassador to Cairo, Dan Munuza, stressed the necessity of cooperation with Africa in the field of medicine and health tourism, stressing that Rwanda’s doors are open to all Egyptians and Egypt’s great doctors were reviewed, and the prospects for Egyptian-Rwandan cooperation were reviewed to connect Rwandan cadres and patients with specialized Egyptian expertise, in a way that supports the continent’s vision of health development.
In turn, Major General Ahmed Abdullah, former Governor of the Red Sea, confirmed that Doctor Mohamed Tawfiq Zaqzouq deserves the title of Man of the Year and Doctor of the Year, and thanked the African-Asian Federation for its efforts in selecting the honorees with great care.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Tawfiq expressed Zaqzouq expressed his deep pride in this honor that bears an influential title, stressing that leadership in medicine is inseparable from human responsibility. He addressed a message to young doctors in which he called on them not to be satisfied with the minimum level of knowledge, and to continue giving to humanity, stressing that the true value of the scientist lies in his ability to help others.
The ceremony witnessed, in its congratulatory segment, a series of high-level and influential praises from senior visitors and leaders of the medical sector, where attendees unanimously agreed that Dr. Mohamed Tawfiq Zaqzouq represents a unique model that combines the genius of a surgeon and the humanity of a social leader. The speakers stressed that the award is a true invitation to the rising generation of doctors to follow the path of giving drawn by “The Heart of Egypt.” Al-Nabb”, stressing that his achievements will remain a beacon that illuminates the path of scientific research and charitable work in the African and Asian continents.
The ceremony concluded with the official coronation ceremony and the handing over of the “Golden Honor Shield” By Dr. Mohamed Tawfiq Zaqzouq, and group photos of attendees, making this event a new declaration of the role of the African-Asian Union as a soft power that supports professional and humanitarian integration between the two continents.
