How was your experience with the film Sukar, in which you returned to presenting an Egyptian musical film after a long hiatus?

In our cinematic history We have a large number of musical films that are considered among the most successful films, such as the films of Farid Al-Atrash and Abdel Halim Hafez, and after the presentation of the film “Take Care of Zuzu” The matter disappeared and there was no longer a demand for presenting this type of musical films, and for me it is the closest to my heart, so I found in the movie “Sukar” an opportunity to present something that I love.

But the movie “Sukar” is directed. Mainly for children, is it different “musically”? According to the target audience?

Firstly, I must record that it is very unfortunate that we no longer have musical content directed at children, especially since at one time we had pioneering musical experiences presented by… Musician Ammar Al Sharia and other artists, but suddenly they completely disappeared, as Western culture overwhelmed us, and children these days are only interested in Disney songs.

For me, it is the biggest dream of my life. is that I present songs for children, and my goal in Sukar was to present music that when children listen to it does not make them feel different from what they are accustomed to listening to, but at the same time it has an oriental and Arab character.

There are a number of soundtrack composers who have recently decided to give concerts. What do you think about this? Why haven’t you taken that step yet?

Indeed, a number of composers have given very successful concerts, the most recent of which was Hisham Nazih’s concert at the El Gouna Festival, a trend that has become prevalent recently. The credit in this matter goes to the musician Omar Khairat, as he was the first to transform music  In your opinion, who is the role model  Music in the Arab world and internationally? Has it received its due attention in festivals?

It is developing, although most festivals do not award an award for soundtrack music, including the Cairo, which is definitely sad.

What acts are you working on creating soundtracks for these days?

I recently finished the music for the series “His Hour and His History” It was shown on DMC a few days ago  Currently, I am working on the movie “The Pasha’s Daughters.” And the series “Natural Disaster” By Muhammad Salam.
