The start of the herding of camels participating in the Madinat Zayed auction

Al Dhafra, December 9, 2020 – The organizing committee of the 18th session of the Al Dhafra Festival began today the installation of the electronic chip for camels participating in the Madinat Zayed auction, which begins next Thursday, December 12, 2024.

The marking of the local camels, the Majahim, the Asayel and Al Wadah camels will continue until Wednesday, December 18, from six-thirty in the morning until eleven-thirty in the morning in Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra region.

Marking is part of the conditions for participation in the auctions of the Al Dhafra Festival in its four stations (Sweihan, Razin, Madinat Zayed, and the final Al Dhafra), as rides that do not carry an electronic chip are not allowed to participate in the auctions. This is to ensure the provision of distinguished services and facilitate the registration process.

The Madinat Zayed parade, which represents the third leg of the Al Dhafra Festival, will witness the organization of 85 rounds, including 38 rounds for local camels, 35 rounds for Al-Majahim camels, 6 rounds for purebred cross-bred camels, and 6 rounds for clear camels, within 6 age categories: “Mafarid, Haqayeq, Laqaya, Idhaa, Thanaya.” , About”, and 775 prizes worth more than 12 million were allocated to it Dirham.

The festival aims to preserve purebred camel breeds, motivate camel owners to participate in heritage auctions and competitions, preserve popular heritage, and encourage members of the Emirati and Gulf society to practice it in its various forms.
