The Ministry of Education has defined the duties of the resident supervisor within schools, emphasizing his pivotal role in providing the necessary supervisory support to improve the quality of education and enhance educational performance.
This guidance is based on the Guidance Model Guide to Support School Excellence, which aims to enable schools to achieve the best results by focusing on four main areas, including teaching, learning outcomes, school activities, and student guidance.
The Ministry explained that the resident supervisor (the school excellence support provider) bears the responsibility of analyzing the school’s reality and accurately identifying educational needs, enabling him to provide appropriate support that enhances the efficiency of educational performance in various aspects..

Carrying out daily tasks

The resident supervisor works to carry out daily supervisory tasks within the school on a full school day basis, and his attendance is officially documented in the approved records, whether electronically or on paper, to ensure his commitment to carrying out his tasks according to the specified plan.
His duties also include providing specialized support in specific fields, with a focus on school activities and student guidance, in addition to continuous coordination with the Executive Committee, which follows up on his efforts and evaluates the support services provided..
The Ministry of Education pointed out the importance of following a series of practical steps to effectively implement school excellence support services.
These steps begin by analyzing the reality of the school and studying reports related to evaluating school performance and self-evaluation, and then identifying areas and supervisory practices that need improvement.
After that, a comprehensive improvement plan is prepared that includes goals and implementation steps, and then it is submitted to the relevant authorities for approval. The plan is implemented according to a specific timetable, with periodic reports submitted on the level of progress achieved, and a continuous review of the plan in light of feedback from the executive team to ensure the achievement of the desired goals..
The executive teams, under the supervision of the Assistant for Educational Affairs, are responsible for following up on the implementation of all operations related to school excellence support services.
These responsibilities include providing feedback to educational supervisors, reviewing quarterly and annual plans for distributing supervisors to schools, and approving them in line with the schools’ needs. Schools’ satisfaction with the services provided is also measured to ensure improved performance and enhanced application quality.
The Ministry explained that the application of the supervisory model includes all general education schools, kindergartens, special education institutes, and Saudi schools abroad, with priority given to schools that are at the preparation or launch level.
She stressed the need to provide specialized support in specific specialties in proportion to the needs of schools, while allowing remote schools to benefit from remote support when needed.
Private and international schools can also benefit from school excellence support services upon request.
