With $895 billion…the US House of Representatives votes on a defense bill

The Pentagon’s policy bill indicates that national defense spending will increase by 1% in the current fiscal year, which will allow enlisted members of the military to receive a pay increase of at least 10%.
This measure is usually strongly bipartisan, but this will not be the case this year, as some Democratic representatives are protesting the inclusion of a ban on medical treatments for some children of military personnel if this treatment will result in infertility.

Increase defense spending

The House of Representatives is expected to approve the draft law on Wednesday and then refer it to the Senate, where representatives are seeking a greater increase in defense spending beyond the $895.2 billion that was approved in the compromise measure before them.
Representatives are seeking for lower-ranking military service members to receive a pay increase of 14.5% and 4.5% for other personnel, as it is important for improving the quality of life of those serving in the US military.
