Ships can pass through the Strait of Hormuz, except for “enemy ships.”

The official Iranian Mehr Agency quoted Iran’s representative to the International Maritime Organization as saying, “Ships, with the exception of enemy ships, can pass through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with security and safety arrangements.”

The Iranian official blamed the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz on the American and Israeli attacks.

He said that Tehran is “ready to cooperate with the organization and countries to improve maritime safety and protect sailors.”
