The General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai resolved a problem that almost obstructed the travel of athlete Khalifa Al Darmaki to participate in a sporting event within 10 minutes, according to Al Darmaki, who narrated the details of the incident in a video that sparked great interaction.

Narrating the details of the incident from the tournament field, Al Darmaki said that he went to Dubai Airport to participate in the “Iron Man” sports tournament, but he was surprised that he could not travel due to a difference in his name on the travel visas to New Zealand and Australia.

He added that it was seven in the morning, and he came across the Deputy Director of the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, on a traffic tour with a team from Emirates Airlines. He went to him and explained to him what happened, and said that he was well aware that “it was not his fault.” Residency” or “Emirates Airlines” is in the wrong, but he realizes that the problem – if dealt with in a bureaucratic manner – will only be resolved within four days.

He pointed out that he was surprised when Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor replied to him that he would travel on time, and his flight would not be cancelled, pointing out that he solved the problem for him within only 10 minutes.

Al Darmaki stressed, “This cannot happen in another country, but it is the Emirates and Dubai, and this is the difference.”

It is noteworthy that Khalifa Al Darmaki is a player in the national triathlon team, and a member of the technical committee of the Asian Triathlon Confederation, and achieved a remarkable achievement in the European Ironman Championship (full distance), which was held in Hamburg, Germany.

Al Darmaki was able to break the previous record set by the UAE, which was achieved in the “Ironman Florida” championship, with a time of 10 hours and 56 minutes in 2013.

Al Darmaki recorded his achievement after competing in the championship, which included a 3.8 km swimming race, a 180 km cycling race, and a 42 km running marathon, with a time of 10 hours and 37 minutes.

Al Darmaki stressed that this achievement represents the best preparation and preparation to participate in the World Championship currently being held in New Zealand.
