The Kingdom’s regions are preparing to receive a severe cold wave starting tomorrow, Sunday, causing a significant drop in temperatures, especially in the northern, central and eastern regions.
This atmosphere is accompanied by active winds that stir up dust, which increases the feeling of coldness.
Amid this atmosphere, calls are increasing to take the necessary preventive measures, especially to protect children and students from the repercussions of the extreme cold, by wearing appropriate winter clothing and providing warm and safe environments.

The weather analyst at the National Center of Meteorology, Aqeel Al-Aqeel, explained to Al-Youm: “The northern regions of the Kingdom will witness the effect of a cold air mass from tomorrow, Sunday, until the end of the week, which will lead to temperatures falling below zero degrees Celsius in some areas, especially in Northeast of the Kingdom.
He added: “The Eastern Region, Al-Qassim, and Riyadh will also witness a noticeable drop in temperatures until the end of next week. However, the general atmosphere will remain stable but cold.”

Al-Aqeel said: “The cold wave continues to affect the regions of the Kingdom during the period from Sunday, December 15, until Tuesday, December 17, and includes the regions of Tabuk, Al-Jawf, the northern border, Hail, and the northern eastern region.”
He explained that the cold air mass is expected to reduce minimum temperatures to between zero and 3 degrees below zero Celsius, and the effect of the cold wave will extend on Monday and Tuesday to include the regions of Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, with minimum temperatures expected to range between 2 and 5 degrees. Celsius.
He pointed out that “active winds causing dust and dust will accompany these conditions on Sunday and Monday, especially in areas that will witness a sharp drop in temperatures, with the effect extending to the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Medina, including the coastal parts during daylight hours.”

According to the center’s statement, active winds stirring dust and dust, accompanied by a drop in temperature, affect the regions of Al-Jawf, the northern borders, Hail, Al-Qassim, Riyadh and Al-Sharqiya, as well as parts of the regions of Tabuk, Medina and Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
While the sky will be partly cloudy with a chance of light rain in parts of the Jazan, Asir and Al-Baha regions.
