Ajman Police launches an initiative "Don’t get distracted by anything other than the path"

Ajman, December 14 / WAM / The Traffic and Patrols Department at the Ajman Police General Command launched the traffic awareness campaign, “Don’t be distracted by anything other than the road,” during the period from 10 to 31 December.
Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Humaid bin Hindi, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, said that the campaign aims to educate drivers, road users and community members about the dangers of the phenomenon of being distracted off-road while driving, and highlight the negative effects such as using a mobile phone and social media applications, which leads to the vehicle driver’s distraction and his inability to… Appropriate reaction in sudden situations.
He pointed out that the violation of being distracted from the road by using a mobile phone by hand while driving or in any way is subject to a fine of (800) dirhams and (4) traffic points, according to Article 32 of the UAE Federal Traffic Law.
The Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department stated that the campaign includes many activities, including holding awareness lectures for employees of government departments, university students, and the general public, in addition to distributing awareness leaflets, and providing preventive advice and guidance through various means to raise awareness about the dangers of this phenomenon, calling on the public to adhere to traffic laws. Drive carefully and do not distract from the road in any way.
