The Kingdom wins a number of medals in the Global Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth

The World Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth (WAICY) 2024 announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia won first place in the competition out of 129 countries represented by more than 18,000 male and female students in the general education stages, in return for winning 22 medals between gold, silver, and bronze, and special superior awards. On: the United States of America, Britain, Australia, India, Greece, Canada, And Singapore.

 

 The Kingdom was distinguished by its exceptional performance in this competition, which is considered one of the largest global competitions in which countries of the world are interested in building a promising generation in artificial intelligence technologies, which confirmed the Kingdom’s superiority. In the field of data and artificial intelligence, 1,298 male and female students from various levels of public education in the Kingdom participated in the competition. They presented 662 innovative projects that resulted in winning 22 medals of appreciation as the highest number of Medals among all participating countries.

 As a national initiative, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority “SDAIA” took care of In adopting and supporting this competition over the past years, “Sadaya” In order to raise the capabilities of this generation in learning and using artificial intelligence technology (AI to solve real problems) in order to encourage them to use artificial intelligence, create projects that contribute to solving real problems, understand the importance and impact of artificial intelligence in areas of life, and encourage male and female students to participate in areas of life. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

 

 The most prominent countries winning medals were as follows: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: 22 awards, United States of America: 20 Award, India: 5 awards, Greece: 5 awards, Canada: 4 awards, Philippines: 3 awards, UAE: 2 awards, and the Sultanate of Oman and each of: Australia, Ukraine, and Britain: one award for each country.
