Burundi: 1 death and 33 cases of cholera in a refugee camp

Burundi recorded 34 cases of in the east of the country.
The Burundian Radio and Television Corporation reported that the Busoma refugee camp in the Kayunguzi district of Buhumuza District hosts more than 21,000 refugees coming from the Republic of.

She indicated that 34 cases of cholera were recorded during a field visit to Busoma camp organized jointly by the National Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons and the Regional Administration of Buhumuza District.
The representative of the National Office, Fiakre Nkunzimana, confirmed that the refugees are in urgent need of drinking water, shelter, food, and medicines.
The Burundian authorities had previously called for the provision of Urgent international aid for more than 70,000 people from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, who have fled violence in the east of the country and sought refuge in Burundi since December 5.
