With Saudi participation, the Arab League celebrates International Language Day

Tomorrow morning, Wednesday, the League of Arab States will hold an event on the occasion of International Arabic Language Day, with the participation of an elite group of specialists and experts, and representatives of a number of Arab and international bodies.
The King Salman Social Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Dr. Noura bint Faisal Al-Shaaban, is participating in the event, with a research paper entitled “The Impact of the Arabic Language on Global Cultural Diplomacy.”

Opening session

The opening session begins with a speech by the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, then a speech by Dr. Nazir Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt.

Followed by Dr. Amr Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, speech by Dr. Abdel Hamid Madkour, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Linguistic Academies.
Then the word D. Nuria Sanz, Director-General of the UNESCO Regional Office in Cairo, and finally a speech by Dr. Ali Moussa, President of the International Council for the Arabic Language.
The opening session will conclude with the gifting of shields to the League of Arab States from the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Arab Gulf States, and the “Your Homeland Project” initiative in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Work sessions

The first working session will witness member states presenting their reports on their efforts in the field of the Arabic language
While the second working session reviews the two draft strategic documents for the advancement of the Arabic language, and the executive plan attached to it by the expert charged with updating them; In implementation of the decision of the Social Committee of the Economic and Social Council in September 2024, prepared by Dr. Muhammad Younis Al-Hamalawy, Professor of Computer Engineering at Al-Azhar University and President of the Egyptian Society for the Arabization of Science.

Then Dr. reviews. Ahmed Youssef Al-Idrissi, media personality, writer, and thinker in the field of international artificial intelligence, “Linguistic intelligence of Arabic, integration or differentiation with artificial intelligence?”

Interventions with research papers

The event will also witness contributions with brief papers on the Arabic language from:
– Fouad Subouta, First Vice President of the Arab Parliament.
– The Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States: An intervention on the Center’s efforts in the field of the Arabic language and teaching and learning the Arabic language to non-native speakers” Dr. Issa Saleh Al-Hammadi
Center Director.
– Writer, journalist, and historian Dr. Akram Al-Jarwan, head of the “Your Homeland Project” initiative in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, “A presentation on “The Arabic Language, Authenticity and Contemporaryness on its International Day.”

-Menoufia University Dr. Basim Abdel Azim Abdel Qader, Professor of Literature and Criticism at the University, on “Means for Developing the Arabic Language.”
– King Salman Social Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Noura bint Faisal Al-Shaaban on “The Impact of the Arabic Language on Global Cultural Diplomacy.”

Final statement

The event concludes with a poetry recitation on the classical Arabic language presented by Dr. Soraya Al-Asili, President of the Arab Poets Association.
Finally, the final statement is read by the General Secretariat.
