The inauguration of the Riyadh City Pavilion is a guest of honor for the Buenos Aires Book Fair

The Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority inaugurated, on Tuesday, the Pavilion of the city of Riyadh as a guest of honor of the 49th session of the Buenos Aires International Book Fair 2025, during the period from April 22 to May 12, in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.
The authority is led by Riyadh’s participation, guest of honor of the exhibition, with the participation of a Saudi delegation representing the cultural and literary movement in the Kingdom, and includes the theater and performance arts Authority, the Heritage Authority, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Noble Qur’an, the King Abdulaziz House, the King Salman International Complex for the Arabic language, the King Abdulaziz Public Library, the King Fahd National Library, with the aim of opening a Saudi window to the audience of the exhibition from Argentina and different parts the world.

Saudi cultural presence

The Riyadh Pavilion comes to strengthen the Saudi cultural presence in Latin America, and it is identified in the Saudi capital as a civilized model that reflects the transformations of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, through a varied literary and cultural content, and the contents translated into the Spanish language contribute to extending bridges of cultural understanding.

The Riyadh Pavilion was opened at the Buenos Aires International Book Fair 2025 in the presence of the CEO of the Literature and Publishing and Translation Authority Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al -Wasel, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Kingdom’s Embassy in Argentina, on behalf of Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al -Dakhil, Prime Minister of Buenos Aires Jorge Macri, Minister of Culture in his government, Gabriela Recardis, and President of the Book Foundation in Argentina Christine Rinon.

Dr. Al -Wasel stressed the importance of cultural cooperation as a civilized tool for building bridges and strengthening relations between nations, pointing to the relationship between the Kingdom and Argentina.

The President of the Book Foundation in the Republic of Argentina, Christine Rinon, talked about the importance of the Buenos Aires International Book Fair as a university cultural platform that contributes to the convergence of nations and civilizations, and supports the consolidation of the values ​​of peace and international understanding, noting that the choice of the city of Riyadh is a guest of honor that enhances the horizon of cultural dialogue between peoples.

The Riyadh city pavilion reviews the features of the creative diversity and the cultural identity of the Saudi capital, through an integrated cultural program that includes literary seminars, dialogue sessions, poetry evenings and performance shows, along with an exhibition of manuscripts and books, and a corner for Saudi publications translated into the Spanish language, in the context of supporting the global spread of Saudi literature.

Saudi heritage

The pavilion includes a number of specialized pillars that reflect the richness of the Saudi heritage and its cultural diversity, among them the corner of handicrafts, which offers live shows for traditional industries, the corner of heritage reproductions that highlight the features of historical architecture in Riyadh, in addition to artistic and theatrical paragraphs that reflect the cultural dimension, and a reception corner designed in the Salmani style.

The wing provides visitors with the opportunity to identify aspects of daily life in Riyadh, through an area dedicated to traditional fashion shows, presented in an introductory formula in the Spanish language.
It is noteworthy that the Boinos Aires International Book Fair is one of the largest cultural events in Latin America, and since its inception in 1975 it has established its position as a leading platform for publishing and exchanging knowledge, annually stable more than a million visitors.
