Health: Qalyubia Governorate hospitals provided 2.4 million medical services within 10 months

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the provision of 2 million, 487 thousand and 745 medical services in various specialties in the hospitals of Qalyubia Governorate, through 15 hospitals and therapeutic service centers during the period from January 1 until the end of October 2024, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Vice President The Council of Ministers, Minister of Health and Population, and within the framework of Egypt’s Vision 2030 to achieve sustainable development.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar confirmed, The official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population said that 15 hospitals in Qalyubia Governorate have been developed and raised, noting that Al-Qanater Charity Hospital has obtained GHAR accreditation, to be the first affiliated with the therapeutic sector in the directorate to obtain this accreditation. Banha Fever Hospital has also been included among the hospitals of the fourth phase of the executive plan. National to combat antibiotic resistance, with the adoption of the Regional Joint Laboratory Center as the central laboratory for the Central Delta region, to be one of only 5 laboratories at the level of the Republic.

He explained. "Abdul Ghaffar" Hospitals were provided with 89 modern medical devices, including monitors, respirators, radiology, anesthesia, and ultrasound devices, which were distributed according to need, indicating that medical services were provided to 1.3 million beneficiaries in outpatient clinics, and 43,000 patients in evening clinics.

Abdul Ghaffar added that the hospital capacity had been increased, as the number of intensive care beds reached 144, and 77 A nursery for children, and the new Obour Hospital was developed to reach 199 beds, while the capacity of Shibin al-Qanater Hospital reached 229 beds, and Banha Fever Hospital reached 86 beds, in addition to developing Toukh Central Hospital to reach 98 beds, with the addition of quality services such as Operating rooms, incubator beds, and emergency departments.

Abdul Ghaffar pointed out that the efficiency of medical teams in 199 facilities affiliated with the primary care sector, with the creation of additional services that include specialized clinics, urology units, and physical therapy departments. The remote diagnosis system was also activated in 5 hospitals, benefiting more than 5,000 patients.

Also, 11 health units were equipped as a first stage to provide evening clinic services, while continuing to develop the health units within the Decent Life Initiative, which includes 18 medical centers that were delivered, with work completed in other centers and units to meet the needs of… Citizens.

For his part, Dr. Osama Al-Shalaqani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Qalyubia, confirmed that 1,781 specialized training courses had been implemented in hospitals, with a total of 37,000 trainees benefiting from it, in addition to 1,345 various training courses  And workshops that benefited 26,000 people.

He pointed out that 1.7 million services were provided as part of presidential initiatives, and the organization of 80 medical convoys that benefited 92,000 citizens, with the issuance of 48,000 treatment decisions at state expense, and the free treatment team also implemented Intensive campaigns on private medical facilities resulted in the closure of 691 violating facilities, and the food control team visited 7,411 food facilities. 22 thousand kilograms of food that had been destroyed were seized to preserve the health and safety of citizens.

Al-Shalaqani confirmed that the Health Affairs Directorate in Qalyubia Governorate continues to develop the infrastructure and raise the efficiency of medical teams and health facilities, with a focus on continuing medical education. To provide medical services at the highest level, ensuring excellence in all medical specialties to meet the needs of all age groups.
