The Minister of Justice, Dr. Walid Al-Samaani, directed the inauguration of the headquarters of the health professional malpractice claims departments at the General Court in Riyadh, which includes eight circuits to consider first-degree cases, and two circuits for the level of appeal, in accordance with the unified standard identity and the modern operational model for the courts, as part of model projects in all regions of the Kingdom. .

Speedy resolution of disputes

It operates entirely electronically, specializes in examining all health professional errors throughout the Kingdom, and includes a special section for medical experts, which works to provide medical expertise to judicial departments in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

The jurisdictions of the legitimate health bodies had been transferred from the Ministry of Health to the public judiciary, and judges and their assistants were trained and qualified based on judicial competence, scientific qualification and practical scientific experience, in a way that achieves quality and accuracy in the judicial outputs related to these disputes.

The Ministry of Justice also provided an interpretation service for remote in-person sessions for non-Arabic speakers through the Ministry’s unified translation center, in addition to cooperating with the Health Specialties Commission through the Ministry of Justice’s experience platform to provide the experts required by medical error claims.
The Ministry of Justice activated the work of the Reconciliation Center for claims of health professional errors, and the “Najez Government” for the Ministry of Health and its branches was activated to file public rights cases.
It is noteworthy that the health professional errors claims departments in the General Court in Riyadh completed more than 10,000 cases, during the period of the transfer of the jurisdictions of the legitimate health bodies from the Ministry of Health to the public judiciary.
