With the closure approaching, Trump supports a new plan to finance the American government

US President-elect Donald Trump announced that he supports a new Republican plan to finance the government and raise the debt ceiling, and urged a fast track as the government shutdown approaches, with a vote scheduled in the House of Representatives for Thursday evening.
Trump’s post on social media came at a time when Republicans were rushing to reopen the House of Representatives to begin discussing the initial agreement after closed and arduous talks.

US government funding

The new plan would continue funding the government for another three months, add $100.4 billion in disaster aid, including for states affected by hurricanes, and allow for more borrowing through January 30, 2027, Republicans said.
Trump wrote in his post: “Success in Washington! House Speaker Mike Johnson and the House of Representatives reached a very good deal.”
