Japan’s inflation rate increased by 2.7% in November

Tokyo, December 20 / WAM / Core consumer prices in Japan rose by 2.7% last November compared to the previous year, with the pace of increase widening for the first time in three months, according to data from the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications issued today, Friday.
The Japanese Kyodo News Agency reported that the rise in the core consumer price index nationwide, excluding food, came after a 2.3% rise last October, and a 2.4% rise in September, while the inflation rate remained at or above the Bank of Japan’s target of 2% since April 2022.
The ministry said that the core consumer price index, which shows basic price trends excluding energy and food, rose by 2.4%, compared to an increase of 2.3% in the previous month.
