A Saudi woman and an Algerian woman qualify in the third episode of… "Prince of poets"

ABU DHABI, December 20 / WAM / The poet Hussein Ali Al Ammar from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the poet Najwa Obaidat from Algeria, qualified for the second stage of the “Prince of Poets” program in its eleventh season, produced by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.

In the episode held yesterday, 4 poets, Ahmed Imam from Egypt, Hussein Ali Al Ammar from Saudi Arabia, Al-Mukhtar Abdullah Salahi from Mauritania, and Najwa Obaidat from Algeria, competed in front of the jury consisting of Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Dr. Wahab Roumieh, and Dr. Muhammad Hajo.

The session was attended by Dr. Sultan Al Amimi, Acting Executive Director of the Poetry and Heritage Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, members of the program’s advisory committee, Dr. Muhammad Abu Al Fadl Badran, Dr. Imad Khalaf, the poet Raad Bandar, the Syrian artist Asaad Fadda, and an audience of poets, media figures, writers, intellectuals, and poetry lovers.

At the end of the evening, the jury announced its decision to qualify the poet Hussein Ali Al Ammar by obtaining 44 marks out of 50, and the poet Najwa Obaidat who obtained 43 marks out of 50, while Ahmed Imam received 42 marks, and the chosen one Abdullah Salahi received 32 marks, and the winner will move on from them by public vote. During this week to the next stage.

The result of the public vote in the last episode resulted in the poet Jibril Adam Jibril from Chad qualifying with a total of 80 points out of 100, to move to the second stage with the poets Abdul Rahman Al-Humairi from the Emirates, and Abdul Salam Saeed Abu Hajar from Libya, who qualified in the last episode by decision of the jury.

The third live episode hosted the artists Ahmed Al-Zamili and Muhammad Bashar, who presented a musical panel in which they sang various verses of Arabic poetry from different eras. They also expressed their happiness to participate in performing in the Prince of Poets program this season, and discussed the musical style they perform and its relationship to Arab traditional songs.
