The US Army announces the killing of an ISIS leader in an air strike in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria

Al-Hurra channel reported: The satellite channel, this Friday evening, reported from the US Central Command, in a statement, that the strike, which took place yesterday, Thursday, targeted the leader of ISIS, Abu Yusef, known as Mahmoud, in the Deir ez-Zor Governorate in Syria, killing him along with another militant in the organization. The statement added that the strike was carried out in an area that was previously under “the control of the Syrian and Russian regimes.”

The commander of US Central Command, General Michael Corella, said, “The United States, working with allies and partners in the region, will not allow ISIS to attack ISIS.” By exploiting the current situation in Syria to reshape itself.”

He added, “ ISIS intends to free more than 8,000 ISIS members currently detained in facilities in Syria. He stressed that the United States “will aggressively target these leaders and elements, including those who attempt to carry out operations outside Syria.”
