Mohammed Al Sharqi witnesses the Fujairah Dressage Championship and crowns the winners in a number of its categories

Fujairah, December 22nd, WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the importance of equestrian championships and their diversity in enhancing the heritage sports sector and attracting riders to compete on its platforms for the highest titles.
This came during the presence of His Highness, part of the Fujairah Dressage Championship “Dressage” competitions in Fujairah Castle Square, accompanied by his sons Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, and Sheikha Aisha bint Mohammed Al Sharqi.
His Highness noted the interest of the Emirate of Fujairah, based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, to spread the cultural heritage of the UAE through the important status and symbolism that horses represent in Arab heritage, and to keep pace with the state’s vision of strengthening the national and Arab identity in the hearts of generations.
The tournament, which consisted of 9 rounds, witnessed the participation of 60 male and female horsemen from various equestrian clubs and stables in the country, and was characterized by exciting competitions between the horsemen who performed at excellent levels.
His Highness honored the top performers in the morning races, namely Nicola Wright, who won first place in the beginners race, “Junior,” on the horseback “Lucic” of the Emirates Equestrian Center, and achieved 163 points, and Emirati Shamsa Al Muhairi, riding the horse, “Koetshoef Electra,” from Al Shiraa Stables, who won first place in the race. The beginners were “Junior”, and achieved 167 points. Nicola Wright, riding “Ovila,” topped the Beginners’ Senior class and scored 173 points, and Jillian Boscolo, riding “Next Time,” from the Al Habtoor Polo Club, was champion of the Advanced Beginners class, scoring 185 points.

The evening period witnessed 4 rounds, during which the UAE national team’s veteran dressage rider, Ali Al Jahouri, emerged, winning the “Grand Prix” title on the horse “Dandy L” from the Al Wathba stables, and scoring 216 points.
Al-Jhouri also won the professional category title on the horse “Hirano” for Al-Wathba Stables, scoring 213 points.
The rest of the races witnessed the brilliance of rider Caroline Toddler, who won first place during the junior race, riding “Fabiola” from the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club, and scored 205 points. Then she quickly returned during the advanced junior race to also take the lead on the same horse and score 235 points this time.
The championship rounds were accompanied by a wonderful show for the children on pony horses, during which they performed well, confirming their love and passion for equestrian sports.
