The festival aimed to revitalize the Saudi theatrical movement through a series of qualitative theatrical performances, enhance awareness of the theater and performing arts sector, as well as discover and develop theatrical talent.

At the ceremony prepared for this occasion, Sultan Al-Bazei, CEO of the Theater and Performing Arts Authority, expressed his pride in the festival’s achievements and its role in highlighting cultural and creative diversity, and the importance of sustaining efforts to develop the Saudi theatrical scene and enhance interaction with international theatrical experiences.

Al-Bazai pointed out that the theater honored the pioneer of Saudi theatre, Ahmed Al-Sibai – may God have mercy on him – who contributed to introducing theater to the Kingdom and developing the performing arts, where an art exhibition was held showcasing his pioneering career, which included a display of his theatrical and literary works and his personal belongings, in addition to the awards and honorary certificates that he received. During his career, and a documentary film that highlights his most prominent literary stations and achievements since the 1950s, leading up to his founding of the first Saudi theater in 1961 AD under the name “Dar Quraysh for Acting.” Narrative.”

An exceptional platform for theatrical creativity
Festival Director, Dr. Rashid Al-Shamrani, confirmed that the festival formed an exceptional platform for theatrical creativity, as it succeeded in bringing together an elite group of creators and promising talents on one stage, in an event that highlights the extent of the development of the theater sector in the Kingdom, noting that the festival confirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening the role of theater as one of Important cultural pillars, and represents the beginning of a new era of artistic and creative awareness, contributing to discovering talent and building a new generation of theater artists capable of keeping pace with global developments.

Then the winning works were announced and the award winners of the second session of the festival were honored, and the winners of the award for the best integrated theatrical show within the contemporary track, and the best integrated theatrical show within the social track.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the chairman and members of the jury were honored in appreciation of their role in making the festival a success and enhancing the quality of the performances presented.
