المملكة: In pictures: the inauguration of the second largest park in Jeddah at a cost of 19.8 million riyals

Today, His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, inaugurated the project to develop Al-Saja Gardens in Al-Sharafiya district, in the presence of the Mayor of Jeddah Governorate, Saleh bin Ali Al-Turki, and a number of municipality leaders.
His Highness toured the park’s facilities, and listened to an explanation about the park, which is the second largest park in the governorate, extending over an area exceeding 60,000 square meters and costing 19.8 million riyals.

The park is part of the national “Bahjah Project,” which aims to create an ideal urban environment for residents by creating gardens that promote a healthy lifestyle, in accordance with the best design standards that suit the aspirations of citizens and residents.
The Municipality seeks to strengthen its development initiatives to humanize the city and improve the quality of life, which is one of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 AD.

The development project aims to take advantage of the location and centrality of Al-Saja Park and its surrounding gardens, represented by Al-Nozha Park (east) and Kindergarten Park (west), and to connect them to create and form one central park called Al-Saja Gardens.

The secretariat indicated that the park includes green areas with an area of ​​20,000 square meters distributed over 7 main areas, and a shaded children’s play area in the middle of the park with an area estimated at 2,200 square meters.

It contains several diverse movement games suitable for different age groups, and a sports track designated for pedestrians and bicycles surrounding the entire park, with a length exceeding 1,000 metres.
In addition to investment areas overlooking the main streets, with an area of ​​2,240 square metres, more than 13,500 trees and shrubs are distributed throughout the park, in addition to 170 chairs and 54 bicycle stands, which constitute attraction elements and contribute to providing amenities, enjoyment and joy for visitors.

The Bahja project aims to maximize the use of open spaces by transforming them into active areas focused on providing quality services to individuals and investors and renovating public parks and gardens.
This is to create a renewable and sustainable urban environment that enhances health and gives residents the opportunity to enjoy green places and wide spaces, and also contributes to enhancing tourism attraction and environmental sustainability.
