"Al-Mashaoun Initiative" In Fujairah, mechanisms for strengthening identity and consolidating the values of belonging are discussed
Fujairah, December 30 / WAM / Yesterday evening, the Fujairah Social and Cultural Association concluded its social and cultural program for the year 2024 by launching the “Walking Initiative” in its new form under the slogan “We Walk and Think”, in the Flagpole Park in Fujairah.
His Excellency the expert Dr. Khaled Al-Dhanhani, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, said that the idea of the Peripatetic Initiative is derived from the Peripatetic school of ancient Greek philosophy, which was passed on to Muslim scholars, such as Ibn Sina, Al-Farabi and others, and in turn we re-presented it with a contemporary vision, noting that the initiative aims to stimulate thinking. Creativity through walking, which helps to relax oneself, open the mind and stimulate it to think outside the box.
The event began with a walk in the park’s walkway, followed by an interactive session during which the participants discussed “mechanisms for strengthening national identity and consolidating the values of belonging,” where Saeed Al-Kayani, director of the “Walking Initiative,” explained that strengthening national identity at the present time requires a unified mechanism that reflects the values, history, and culture of the Emirates and keeps pace with the requirements of the times. .
The session witnessed many interventions from the audience, focusing on the ideas that were discussed.
The attendees recommended launching a national project to include cultural professions, such as poet, plastic artist, theatre, musician, and artist, within the professional classification of the UAE, so that the intellectual receives a monthly salary from them like other professions, in addition to creating national records for the names of intellectuals, writers, artists, musicians, craftsmen, and those interested in heritage in the country. .
