"Jaber" The first Omani to lead his country to the Gulf final

Kuwait, December 31 / WAM / Omani coach Rashid Jaber led his country to the final match in the Arabian Gulf Football Cup, for the sixth time in its history and the second in a row, after defeating the Saudi team 2-1 this evening, as the first Omani coach to lead it to the Gulf final. .

The Omani team succeeded in achieving its third victory over its Saudi counterpart during 17 matches in the Arabian Gulf Cup, which witnessed the Saudi team prevailing by winning 13 matches, while the two teams were tied in two matches.

The Omani national team is looking forward to competing for the third title in the tournament in the final scheduled for next January 4 at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait, after winning the title twice, the first at home in “Gulf 19,” while the second victory came in “Gulf 23” in Kuwait.

Jaber achieved many local titles with Omani clubs, most notably his victory with Al-Seeb Club in the AFC Cup in 2022, as the first Omani team to succeed in winning this continental title. He also experienced external training for a short period with the Jordanian Al-Wahdat Club in 2023, and also led the national team in Gulf 15 in Saudi Arabia.

The Omani Football Association announced the hiring of national coach Rashid Jaber to lead the national team last September, succeeding Czech coach Jaroslav Sjelhavy, due to poor results in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Mohsen Al Masrouri, Vice President of the Omani Football Association, praised the distinguished role of coach Rashid Jaber and leading the Omani national team to good results in the tournament, reaching the semi-finals of the first group and then the final against the Saudi national team, especially since he is considered one of the strong names in Omani football and at the Arab level. His results with the national team speak for him, and the advanced level of the national team confirms its technical value.
