Licensing 8 new public benefit institutions in Abu Dhabi

The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, the body regulating the social sector in the emirate, announced the issuance of eight new licenses for public benefit institutions, bringing the total number to 99 licensed public benefit institutions in the emirate. The issuance of licenses comes with the aim of enabling these institutions to provide their services effectively, in accordance with their objectives and system. The basic framework is within an organized legal framework that enhances awareness of the importance of these institutions and their role in addressing social priorities and improving the quality of life for all.

Executive Director of the Licensing and Social Control Sector at the Department of Community Development, Mubarak Al Ameri, said: “Licensing social sector institutions by the Department plays an essential role in facilitating their work and ensuring their compliance with applicable regulations and laws, which enhances efforts towards achieving the desired social goals. Public benefit institutions are a pivotal partner in advancing the social sector by providing innovative solutions that meet the needs of society and contribute to enabling individuals to live a dignified and stable life.”

He added: “The Department of Community Development’s keenness to license public benefit institutions reflects its commitment to supporting these institutions and enhancing their role in developing the social sector by ensuring that their activities are implemented in accordance with legal legislation that preserves the rights of all parties, and today, with the number of public benefit institutions in Abu Dhabi reaching 99.” A public benefit institution, we believe that the social sector is moving steadily towards further development and prosperity.”

Al Ameri stressed the importance of cooperation and partnership between the government and private sectors and the third sector, under whose umbrella public benefit institutions fall, to enhance the sustainability of the social sector, find innovative solutions to social challenges, and consolidate Abu Dhabi’s leading position in the social field at the global level.

The licensed institutions included: the Green Forearms Association, the Emirates Society for Tolerance and Happiness, which specialize in public and cultural fields, the Al-Ittihad Society for Human Rights, and the Emirates Thalassemia Society, which are concerned with humanitarian issues, in addition to the Association of Commercial and Economists, the Emirates Society for Forensic Documentation, which specialize in professional fields, and the Emirates Falconers Club, which It is considered a civil society organization and the United Arab Emirates Society for Oncology and Radiation Therapy, which reflects the diversity of fields in which public benefit institutions are active, and their role in Addressing humanitarian and social issues, and building a cohesive and cohesive society.
