Abu Dhabi Police and the Municipalities and Transport Department urging the public to avoid swimming in the banned sites

The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police and the Municipalities and Transport Department called on members of the community to avoid swimming in the banned maritime beaches, which extend from the Bahia Sea to the Shaila region.

The Municipalities and Transport Department explained that these sites may pose a threat to public safety due to multiple factors such as strong water currents, or the presence of obstacles under the surface of the water, in addition to the lack of rescue teams, stressing that swimming in these sites may lead to drowning or injury, and confirmed that they have placed clear guidelines that prohibit swimming in such areas.

For its part, Abu Dhabi Police called on parents not to leave children in these places so that they do not practice swimming in them, stressing the importance of providing adequate control and parental and family guidance, to reduce the possibilities of exposure to drowning or fall accidents.

She appealed to families to follow the necessary preventive measures to protect their children, and direct them to swimming in sites where rescue platforms are available, which are provided by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in swimming pools and beaches to ensure the safety of their visitors.
