Dubai receives 16.79 million international tourists in 11 months

Dubai, January 3 / WAM / Dubai received 16.79 million international tourists during the first 11 months of last year, that is, between January and November, an increase of 9% compared to the same period last year when the number of international tourists reached 15.37 million tourists.
According to the January-November tourism performance report issued today by the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, the emirate received about 1.83 million international tourists during November, and attracted 1.77 million international tourists during January, 1.9 million during February, and 1.51 million during March, 1.5 million during April, 1.44 million international tourists during May, 1.19 million tourists during June, and 1.31 million tourists during July, 1.31 million in August, 1.36 million in September, and 1.67 million tourists in October.
Western European countries were at the forefront of the regions exporting tourists to Dubai during the first 11 months of this year, with a rate of 20%, or about 3.298 million tourists, followed by South Asia with 2.858 million tourists, constituting about 17% of the total number of visitors, then came the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Third, with more than 2.5 million tourists, constituting 15% of the total number of visitors, then the Commonwealth of Independent States and Eastern Europe, fourth on the list of countries exporting tourists to Dubai has 2.353 million tourists, constituting about 14% of the total visitors to the emirate.
The countries of the Middle East and North Africa ranked fifth in the ranking of countries exporting tourists to Dubai, with 1.933 million tourists, constituting 12%, then the countries of Northeast and Southeast Asia, with a share of 10%, or about 1.622 million visitors.
The number of visitors to Dubai from the Americas during the first 11 months of this year, according to data from the Department of Economy and Tourism, reached 1,117 visitors, representing a percentage of the total number of visitors to 7%, while the number of visitors from Africa reached 791,000, or about 5%, and from Australia, 319,000, making up about 2%. Of the total international visitors to Dubai during the same period.
The number of hotel rooms in Dubai at the end of last November was 153,390 rooms in 828 facilities, compared to 149,685 rooms in 820 facilities at the end of November 2023.
The average hotel occupancy in all establishments operating in Dubai during the first 11 months of last year reached 78%, compared to about 77% during the same period in 2023.
The number of rooms booked during the first 11 months of last year exceeded 39.19 million rooms, an increase of 3% compared to the same period in 2023, when the number of rooms booked reached about 38.01 million rooms.
The average length of stay for guests was 3.6 hotel nights during the first 11 months of this year.
The number of available 5-star hotel rooms reached 53,977 rooms in 168 establishments, accounting for 35% of the total number of hotel rooms in Dubai, while the number of 4-star rooms reached 43,345 rooms in 194 establishments, and the number of hotel rooms between one and three-star categories reached 29,701 rooms. In 278 facilities, while the number of luxury hotel apartment rooms reached 13,944 rooms in 80 facilities, and the number of rooms Mid-level hotel apartments to 12,423 rooms in 108 facilities.
The average daily price of a hotel room during the first 11 months reached 520 dirhams, an increase of 2% compared to 510 dirhams during the corresponding period of 2023, while the average return from available rooms reached 405 dirhams, an increase of 3% compared to 394 dirhams in the corresponding period of 2023.
