المملكة: After 33 days of suffering… saving the life of an infant in Mecca from respiratory infection

The integration and interconnection of medical and therapeutic services between the facilities of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster contributed to ending the suffering of a 33-day-old infant, after he was exposed to severe shortness of breath resulting from an acute respiratory infection that led to the deterioration of his health condition.

The Makkah Health Council explained that a medical team in the children’s department at Al-Qunfudhah General Hospital quickly transferred the child to Hiraa General Hospital in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, after receiving him in the emergency department and placing him in hospital following the deterioration of his health condition.

Speedy handling of the infant’s condition

The group confirmed that the condition required his urgent transfer to an intensive care bed designated for children, as a life-saving case.
The cluster indicated that coordination took place according to the health care model that enhances the interconnection of services between the health cluster entities, as specialists at Hiraa General Hospital were contacted and provided with details of the child’s condition.

The group prepared an integrated treatment plan, which resulted in the success of medical efforts in ending the child’s suffering and enabling him to regain his health.

It is noteworthy that the Makkah Health Cluster works according to health transformation strategies that aim to facilitate beneficiaries’ access to integrated and distinguished medical services.
