We track Yoon’s location amid rumors of his escape

South Korean police said on Wednesday they were tracking the location of ousted President Yoon Seok-yul, amid rumors that he may have fled his residence while facing arrest for briefly imposing martial law.
A police official told Yonhap News Agency: “We cannot specifically disclose President Yoon’s location. We are continuing to track his location.”

Attempts to impose martial law

President Yoon is believed to have been largely confined to his official residence in central Seoul since the National Assembly impeached him on December 14 over his failed attempt to impose martial law earlier that month.
Police confirmed that he was at his home last Friday when investigators attempted to execute his arrest warrant before withdrawing five hours later following a confrontation with the presidential security staff, according to Yonhap, citing sources.
The sources added that he was still at home at least until early this week.
