“Emirates Aluminum” attracts 110 Emirati women during 2024

Abu Dhabi, 9 January / WAM / Emirates Global Aluminum Company announced that it has attracted 110 Emirati female employees during the year 2024, representing more than half of the number of Emirati nationals employed during the year, whose total number reached 220 employees of both genders.

The company explained in its statement today that it aims to increase the percentage of women in supervisory positions to 25% by the end of 2025 and the percentage of women in all company positions to 15% by the year 2026, as the percentage of women in supervisory positions currently stands at 23.3% and 9.6%. The company aims to employ about 600 male and female citizens to increase Emiratisation rates to reach 50% by the end of 2027. During the year 2024, about 144 new employees, including 65 women, have joined the national training programs organized by Emirates Global Aluminum to prepare high school graduates to assume technical positions. Graduates undergo training courses over a period of 18 or 24 months to prepare them to assume supervisory positions or industrial operations in the company. The training program includes working in front-line operational positions that the trainees will supervise after the end of the program.

Abdul Nasser bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminum, confirmed that during the year 2024, more than 71% of Emirati employees have joined the company’s operational positions, which reinforces the firm commitment towards achieving the national strategy for advanced industry and technology, the 300 billion project.

He said that the ambitious goals reflect Emirates Global Aluminum’s pioneering role in developing national talent and innovation in the industrial sector in order to enhance its contribution to the development of the national economy, expressing their aspiration to reach the 50% Emiratisation rate during the year 2027.

The company participated in 14 recruitment campaigns during the year 2024, including major exhibitions and company-specific recruitment campaigns, such as campaigns held throughout the country in cooperation with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, the Government Empowerment Department, the Fujairah Government Human Resources Department, and the Human Resources Department. The Emirates Global Aluminum team includes more than 1,300 male and female citizens, more than half of whom are under 35 years of age.
