The power outage from areas in Spain, Portugal and France

Spain, Portugal and part of southern France on Monday witnessed a comprehensive interruption of the electrical current, which has not yet caused an impact on millions of people, according to the operators of the electricity networks.

The Spanish government company “Red Electric” said on the “X” platform that it is working with other companies to restore the current after being cut off from large areas of Spain and Portugal on Monday, while the Portuguese company “Rin” reported that the entire Iberian Peninsula, including Spain and Portugal, was affected by interruption, in addition to part of France.

E-Redis, a Spanish company to monitor the electricity network, said in a statement that it is working to restore the current in stages.

“This is a large -scale European problem,” she added.

Spanish radio stations reported that part of the Madrid subway was evacuated. The radio staff station stated that downtown Madrid witnessed traffic jams due to the failure of traffic lights.

Portuguese police said that traffic lights were affected by the country, the subway was closed in Lisbon and Porto and the trains stopped working.
