المملكة: Thwarting the smuggling of 6 kilograms of Shabu through the Batha and Empty Quarter crossings

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority at the Batha and Empty Quarter crossings was able to thwart two attempts to smuggle a quantity of Shabu, which was found hidden in two vehicles brought to the Kingdom through the crossings.

Thwarting my smuggling attempt

The authority explained that in the first attempt, a truck was brought to the Kingdom through the Batha port, and when it was subjected to customs procedures and inspected through security techniques, (1,944) kilograms of Shabu were found, hidden in the side boxes of the truck.
In the second attempt, the authority explained that a vehicle was brought to the Kingdom through the Empty Quarter port, and when it was subjected to customs procedures, (4,140) kilograms of shabu were found hidden in the vehicle’s battery, by hiding the seized items in the battery cavity.

Arresting the recipients of the seizures

The Authority reported that after the seizure was completed, coordination was made with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seized items inside the Kingdom, as two people were arrested.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority confirmed that it is continuing to tighten customs control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports, in order to achieve the security of society and protect it from these scourges, in continuous cooperation and coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

Continuing efforts to combat smuggling

At the same time, she called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy, by contacting her on the number designated for security reports (1910) or via email ([email protected]) or the international number (009661910), through these channels the Authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the provisions of the Unified Customs System in complete confidentiality, while granting a financial reward to the informant if the report’s information is correct.
