المملكة: “National Water” begins developing wastewater services in Jeddah
The National Water Company recently began implementing a package of projects to develop sanitation services in several neighborhoods in Jeddah Governorate, at a total cost of 42 million riyals.
These projects include the construction of secondary sewer lines with a total length exceeding 29.7 kilometers, as part of the company’s plans to improve the level of environmental services and develop the infrastructure of the environmental sector.
The company explained that these projects include the implementation of secondary sewer lines serving a number of residential neighborhoods in Jeddah Governorate, including Al-Nahda 2 and Al-Shati 6.
Improving infrastructure
She confirmed that residents of the targeted neighborhoods will benefit directly from these projects once they are completed.
The company added that these projects aim to achieve many benefits, including increasing the coverage rate of sewage networks in the neighborhoods of Jeddah Governorate, and reducing the groundwater level in the beneficiary areas, which contributes significantly to reducing environmental damage resulting from the rise in groundwater levels, and thus improving Quality of life for residents in those neighborhoods.
The National Water Company also confirmed that these efforts come within the framework of its strategic plans to develop water and environmental services in Jeddah Governorate, in line with the residential and urban developments taking place in the governorate.
She pointed out that these projects are being implemented in accordance with the highest international standards, with the aim of achieving environmental sustainability and improving the quality of services provided to the population, which enhances the achievement of the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in improving the quality of life and infrastructure in Saudi cities.
