A specialized medical team at King Abdullah Medical City, a member of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster, succeeded in saving the life of a fifty-year-old Moroccan Umrah pilgrim after receiving her as a life-saving case.
She was suffering from a severe deterioration in consciousness and abnormalities in vital signs, with signs of serious pressure on the brainstem.
A large tumor pressing on the brain
The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Assembly explained that advanced medical examinations showed the presence of a large brain tumor pressing on the brain, causing a sharp and dangerous rise in cerebral pressure. Thanks to God, emergency surgical intervention was performed to remove the tumor and relieve the pressure, which contributed to saving the patient’s life and stabilizing her condition.
He stated that the patient underwent close follow-up in the intensive care department, where she was removed from ventilators after a noticeable improvement in her degree of consciousness. As her condition continued to improve, she was transferred to the inpatient department, and was discharged from the hospital in good health.
The patient regained full consciousness and normal movement without any complications, and her condition will be followed up in outpatient clinics to complete the necessary treatment based on the results of the final evaluation of the patient’s condition.
