المملكة: Amending chambers of commerce performance controls… 60% minimum of the total evaluation

The Ministry of Commerce has proposed a new amendment to Article 44 of the Executive Regulations of the Chambers of Commerce System, through the “Estalaa” platform, with the aim of ensuring unification of the methodology for evaluating the performance of chambers of commerce, to reach a highly credible evaluation process, and to avoid delays in completing the evaluation process, and to evaluate the performance of chambers of commerce with complete impartiality and transparency. .
Article 44 stipulates that the Federation of Chambers shall prepare standards for evaluating the chambers’ performance to be approved by the Ministry, requiring that the chamber’s performance be evaluated by a consulting body in accordance with 4 controls.

Performance evaluation

She explained that these controls include that the Federation of Chambers approves a consulting body and circulates it to the chambers, and the General Assembly of the Chamber chooses the consulting body, from among the bodies approved by the Union, and the consulting body submits the performance evaluation report approved by the Chamber, to the Federation of Chambers within a period not exceeding “three days.” » Months after the end of the calendar year.
In accordance with the amendment to Article 44, the Ministry prohibited the evaluation of the Chamber’s performance by a single advisory body for more than “3” consecutive years.
The amendment obligated the Chamber to publish the approved evaluation results on the website of the Chamber and the Federation of Chambers, while the minimum results for evaluating the Chamber’s performance were set at obtaining “60%” of the total evaluation score. ​
