Trump: I will meet with Putin “very quickly”

US President-elect Donald Trump said on Monday that he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin “very quickly.” After his inauguration next week.
He did not set a date for the meeting, which will be the first between the presidents of the two countries since the beginning of Russia’s war with Ukraine in February 2022.
Strategy to End the War
Trump told Newsmax: When asked about the strategy for ending the war: “There is only one strategy and the decision is in Putin’s hands, and I do not imagine that he is very happy with the way things went because it was not good for him either.”
< p>He added: “I know that he wants us to meet, and the meeting will be very quick.” I would have liked to do this sooner…but I must assume the presidency to accomplish some things.
Expectations of a call between the two leaders
Mike Waltz, a member of the US House of Representatives who will assume the position of National Security Advisor in the White House, said on Sunday that he expects a call between Trump And Putin in “the coming days and weeks”.
The Russian-Ukrainian war left tens of thousands dead, pushed millions to flee, and sparked the biggest dispute in Relations between Moscow and the West since the Cuban missile crisis in 1962.
