American and British: Russia threatens to respond to Ukraine’s use of Western missiles
The post came after an attack on an ammunition factory in Bryansk, western Russia.
The ministry stated that the Russian air defense shot down 6 American “Atakum” missiles and 8 British “Storm Shadow” missiles.
3 people injured
Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz confirmed the attack, which was initially reported on social media.
He stated that there were no injuries, but he did not provide details about any damage resulting from the attack.
The “Mash” channel on Telegram, which is seen as close to the Russian security services, reported that three people were injured, and reported that “rocket fragments fell” at a microelectronics factory in Bryansk, and at an ammunition factory in the town of Silzo.
The channel added that eyewitnesses reported huge explosions.
Russian warning
Russia launched the newly developed medium-range missile at the Ukrainian city of Dnipro last November, as a warning and deterrence.
According to Moscow, this was a reaction to allowing Ukraine to use Western long-range missiles to attack Russian territory.
