Al-Sunbati added: The illiteracy rate in Egypt still represents a major challenge despite the efforts made. According to the data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics for the year 2023, the illiteracy rate reached 16.1% (for the age group 10 years and above), a decrease of 1.4% compared to the previous year.
